Hi Spyder, I'm receiving different info...I hear a guy named Wilbert Driver played Conga on those early records and a different person all together was their percussionist, I can't remember the name but I can recall "Mr. Percussion" being part of it...or something along those lines. |

wow, I had no idea they were playing with you. For all I know that's common knowledge though, excuse me. did they play on any of your records? by the way I've been playing 225 with Nathaniel on our live gigs, you should come out and do it with us some time. |

David, I have their first LP on Aware, "Love sign", from '73, and the players are the same as those mentionned by Spyder. On the cover, they are four, and Jimmy White is not cited. But on their second one, "Funk pump", from '75, they are five ! |

I will double check with Leroy on Sunday and get back to you. Ralph's bro was the engineer on the Jan Jan L.P.,so maybe he can pop in for a visit too. As a side note,on Wednesday went to the Prince concert in T.O. and Shamaka Ali the drummer for the later incarnation of the Bar-Kays as well as United We Funk All Stars, was one row in front of me!He's living in my area now ,so I'm sure he'll have some stories to share here. |
