This hasn't been the best year for Soul music. Now Ray, Timi & the gang must greet yet another of our icons. Was it really so long ago that George was doing his thing? Man, this is sad & as I write this, I notice yet one more grey hair & another wrinkle on my face. I'm reminded yet again that suddenly, this kid is not a kid anymore. Where did the time go? RIP George!!!! |

I'm saddened to hear this as George was one of the first artists I ever spoke to about their music. I met George in Southern Spain in 1997 when he was performing in Benidorm. I found him to be a really nice guy. It was either Gamble or Huff who said in an early Blues & Soul magazine that George was one of the best vocalists that they had ever worked with. There can be no greater accolade. George R.I.P. |

Hi, Juice. I read one of your posts on this thread. This hasn't been a great summer for my family either. I've lost four family members in the past three months. Two of them died in the same week. I keep asking myself: Why is God taking away all of my family members? |

George Williams was the very first performer I located in London to bring over to the United States and unite after nearly 30 years with his original group and friends The Tymes. I'll never forget the thrill and dream come true of getting that 3am call from him, talking through the details of getting him here for my recording of Doo Wop 51. I love their songs and that group so much - it was a gift to be able to see them together once again. Having him on stage with Ceasar and the other guys was so special, because their music was always so special to me and my wife. What makes this very heartbreaking to me personally, especially at this time, is that I was just about to call George this week to talk through an upcoming television project we're getting ready to produce in Philadelphia that would have reunited him with once again with The Tymes. Their version of "Wonderful, Wonderful" and "Pretend" were the first I had heard of those songs growing up in the Jersey Shore. I remember searching high and low to get those original recordings on 45's. George, thank you for the memories, the moments, the emotions and the thrill you gave us - whenever my wife and I "breathe in the cool salty air, we'll be thinking of you" - and the memories you and The other Tymes gave us. God Bless. Respectfully; TJ Lubinsky |

Dinelle, God isn't taking away our family members. We grow old and we eventually die, each and everyone of us. When we lose a loved one, we miss their voice, their laughter, their company, their habits. We NEVER get over our memory of them, but we will learn to live with them being absent. Sometimes we may cry, when we think about them or see or hear something that reminds us of them. I try to comfort myself, by thinking of the good times and then I smile. |

....and the ones that die before they reach old age, usually die from health issues, truamatic occurances, and only god knows why some others die. In any event, we all will leave this earth one day. ...I wonder what it would be like, if everyone born in this earth, would never leave ? |

If this planet was big enough, it would be a beautiful thing, to have all our loved ones with us for eternity! But sadly, thats not the way of the world 'cause God has other plans, and I do hope that His master plan includes us seeing our cherished loved ones, and pets again. |

Bobby, we will see them again... There's no way, no how that a Creator, all powerful and all mighty, and all knowing creates something and allow it to die forever...there's no death or sorrow in him. I know I'm looking forward to seeing all my family & friends again, young & old. What a day that will be and we will be together forever & ever...and there will be no more death, sickness, or sorrows. Is there a Minister in the house ? (smile) |

Hi guys. Medusa. I just read your posts. Thanks for making me feel better. You know, every time I go in my great aunt's house, I'll remember. When I went there today, I found some things that I didn't notice there before. Like my aunt's obituary. She must have remembered my aunt(I'm talking about my late Aunt Maureen). She even had a picture of her and my uncle on their wedding day. I never evne knew that my Great-Aunt Esther had a piano in her house. It's been in the family for years. I'm thinking about learning how to play it. |

One other thing. My Great-Aunt Esther still had some of her old records. Among them are the--can you believe it--Temptations. She certainly had taste. |
