Wow Brian, thank you so much!!

Heres the story on Terry Collins .

Back in the winter of '71 while playing on a big "oldies show" with Len Barry in NYC, the Marcels came out and did their thing.
Their original lead, Cornelius was not there, but was replaced by this guy Terry Collins from Pittsburgh.

He impressed me so much that I invited him down to Philly to hang out for a while and see what could be done.

He literally showed up at my door on a snowy day, January 2nd 1972, and almost immediately started to co write a bunch of songs including the aforementioned one.

He was so prolific that I was able to place our somgs immediately with people all the way from Sister Sledge to Englebert Humperdinck!!

In the interim,I took him into Sigma and recorded four songs on spec.

One of the companies we approached,Warner Bros., told us about a new company that they were distributing called Kwanza, so we gave it to them, finished the songs with the full Philly treatment and then they put it out.

It started to make some noise but for whatever reason didnt go all the way.

I later got him a deal with TK/Silver Blue.

Terry's main problem was that he was self destructive and liked to mess with very young girls.
He was locked up for this during the session.
We bailed him out.

It happened again in Atlanta, where he had moved for a while.

He wrote me from jail atoning for his sins.

Last I heard, one of the Marcels said that he was "on the stret" in Pittsburgh.

What a waste of a wonderful talent,
He could have been another Teddy plus a hit songwriter too.!!
