I have heard different versions of this good tune, all by Jimmy McCracklin, that he recorded at different times during his career, for different labels. I have what I think is the last that he did for Stax around 1970. Can anyone tell me dates and labels of other recording of this that he did.

He did it earlier on Imperial around 1965 - I think that was the hit version. |

I think he did "Think" first on a local West Coast label. It was black with silver writing. I think it was Art-Tone Records. But, I'm not positive it was that label, and not 100% positive it was on a smaller label before Imperial. |

The hit version was on Imperial 66129 ( # 7 R&B,
# 95 pop) in October 1965.
I can't find any sign of him recording it for
Art-Tone. He may well have recorded the song prior
to his stay at Imperial but it's not a case of
Imperial picking up a master from a smaller label
as "Think" was his 13th single for Imperial. |
