In case nobody knows, I had a huge(if thats possible)Northern hit with a song called "Prove yourself a lady" by James Bounty, recorded in 1967, which was huge at the Golden Torch. I had forgoten all about the record( I thought it was a pice of crap) until I met Ian Levine in London in 1986 and told me that I had a smash and I said "what smash'? and thats when he explained the whole NS thing to me. Go figure! |

I had a copy of "Prove Yourself" briefly (before trading it)...I too don't care much for it, but the flip, "Life Will Begin Again"...WOW! Just amazing deep soul...one for those who like Dave Godin's Kent CDs. Best, Mark |

I had NO idea that ANYONE would like that record, especially almost forty years into the future! I would grit my teeth when I listened to it. Not my best work. |

How could no one mention Lou Courtneys classic 1973 epic LP masterpiece IM IN NEED OF LOVE. This epitomises classic modern soul spun in the northern soul clubs uk side. A tasty collectors piece that commands a 50 plus tag on original issue. Features Carl Hall on vocals. |
