Hi Chancellor

Jackie Lee - all Mirwood/Keymen except "Darkest days" which was on ABC :-
Do the temptation walk
Darkest days
Shotgun and the duck
Would you believe
The Duck
Dancin in the street
The neighbourhood
Oh my darlin'
Try my method
Don't be ashamed
Your p-e-r-s-o-n-a-l-i-t-y
Superdance
Let your conscience be your guide
Don't be ashamed
You're everything

Gene Chandler (Constellation/Brunswick)
Nothing can stop me
Good times
Bet you never thought
I can take care of myself
Mr big shot
After the laughter
There was a time
From the teacher to the preacher (with Barbara Acklin)

Can Mel add more to this list?

In case nobody knows, I had a huge(if thats possible)Northern hit with a song called
"Prove yourself a lady" by James Bounty, recorded in 1967, which was huge at the Golden Torch.

I had forgoten all about the record( I thought it was a pice of crap) until I met Ian Levine in London in 1986 and told me that I had a smash and I said "what smash'? and thats when he explained the whole NS thing to me.

Go figure!

I had a copy of "Prove Yourself" briefly (before trading it)...I too don't care much for it, but the flip, "Life Will Begin Again"...WOW! Just amazing deep soul...one for those who like Dave Godin's Kent CDs.

Best,

Mark

I had NO idea that ANYONE would like that record, especially almost forty years into the future!
I would grit my teeth when I listened to it.
Not my best work.

How could no one mention Lou Courtneys classic 1973 epic LP masterpiece IM IN NEED OF LOVE.
This epitomises classic modern soul spun in the northern soul clubs uk side.
A tasty collectors piece that commands a 50 plus tag on original issue.
Features Carl Hall on vocals.

Hey All,

Chancellor of Soul - I ran across the below site. I thought some of you Northern Soul fans might like to see it if you haven't already.

My God - check out the Jukeboxes. I see Spyder Turner is listed on the second link. Check out Della Reese.
