I thought this was on the Raydio album that included "Jack and Jill". I can't find it, and it's not on any of the available Ray Parker Jr collections. I was sure it was Raydio, maybe it wasn't.

Chorus:
Girl, I got something good for you.
Guess what is is? (What?)
Me!!

Hi Gil!

I have 3 lps by Raydio, I'll dig them out and see if they have words, and get back to you.

After some extensive search...I think it's "Me" from the first album. I can't find it anywhere. I'd like to have a copy. I guess I'll check Ebay. Let me know if that's the right song.

Thanks SDF!!!!

Hi, Gil and all,

This "Jack & Jill" got some relation with "Jack & Jill" short accapella song by The Sweethearts in the Salsoul Orchestra "Nice ' n' Nasty" album?

Peace!

SDF,

According to what I've read, it's on the first album and it's the song right after "Jack and Jill". I think it is the red album

Manny,
I think this is a different "Jack and Jill".

Manny.

I've just noticed your post from last week about "Jack and Jill".

The "Jack and Jill" track on that Salsoul Orchestra L.P. is an adaptation of an old "Nursery Rhyme". A nursery rhyme is a song or poem that traditionally mothers would sing to their young children.

Here is more on the subject ..

http://nurseryrhymes.allinfoab out.com/jack_and_jill.html

On the L.P. the words are :-

"Jack and Jill went up the hill to have a bit of fun.
Stupid Jill forgot her pill and now they have a son".

The original words are

"Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water.

Jack fell down and broke his crown, and Jill came tumbling after"
( a "pail" is an alternative word for a bucket. A "crown" here means the back of the head ).

The RAY PARKER and RAYDIO song "Jack and Jill" is very loosely based on this original theme, and also mentions other Nursery Rhymes such as "Little Red Riding Hood".

Hi, Roger!
Thanks for your interesting post. I can see that the title "Nice 'N' Nasty" in this Salsoul Orch. LP is very "appropiate".

When I heard it the first time, I have think that "Jack" perhaps was related to Jack Faith, but after I think, who is "Jill" (??!!)
Also, what a difference compared with the original verses!

I knows, from 1976, when I buy the "Boogie Down USA" LP by People's Choice that a "Nursery Rhyme" is what you says, because this LP have a song equally titled and the titles in the sleeve are traduced to spanish. (this was frequent until the 80's). My first english knowledge was grace to the title songs traduction (I only studed french!). And today I don't got much more knowledge than in the past! (smile!)

Peace & Soul Food!

Hi, Handsome, brother!
This song is not only kool, is CRAZY kool (rare percussions and chorus saying "du-e, du-e, du-e").
Also the surrealist contrast betwen a "for children" title and a raw-funk track. I can't heard without to see simultaneously the way the group is dressed in the back-cover photo!

Peace & Fun (k)

Hi again, Hansome!

We can create a People's Choice - Frank Brunson thread.
I'm a very fan of this chamaleonic group. They can make symphonic funk ("Opus de Funk") and heavy-metal ("Cold Blooded") or deep ballads ("Don't Send Me Away").

Peace!
