Bobby,

I remember you mentioning earlier this year that Blue Magic's first two albums would be reissued in a CD format- do you have an updated release date(s)? Any chance that "Thirteen Blue Magic Lane," "Mystic Dragons," and/or "Welcome Back" LPs will be reissued (as CDs) in the future?

Also- I have been unable to find Major Harris' first solo album ("My Way") on CD- my favorite song on that album (other than "Love Won't Let Me Wait") is "Loving You is Mellow."

Your significant contributions to the famed Philly Sound (both as a producer/arranger and session guitarist/member of MFSB) have not gone unnoticed- you have rightfully earned your place in music history!

Hi Bill Tress,
Thanks so much for your kudos,as I sure do humbly appreciate your comments.

As far as I know, the first two Blue Macic cd's should be coming out in early September(hopefully)
No news yet on the other ones altough Loving you is mellow by Major haris is on the Creme de la Creme cd released by WSM out of the UK and available as an import here.

BTW..where do you live?

I thought that Major Harris died, but when I went on the ALL MUSIC website, the date shows that he is still around. Anyone knows what he is up to?

Bobby,

I began listening to Philly Soul while in high school and then spent my college years (1974-1978) in the Philly area. During that time I grew to like "The Sound of Philadelphia" even more while listening to WDAS-FM on a daily basis. I also was stationed at Naval Air Station Willow Grove from 1981-1984. My wife Patty and I (with two children) currently live outside Charm City (aka Baltimore, MD).

Thanks for the tip on the "Creme De la Creme" CD- I found it on amazon.com and will order it real soon. Your collaborations with Vinnie Barrett were pure "works of art." Just like with Thom Bell/Linda Creed compositions, I would buy the Bobby Eli/Vinnie Barrett songs without even hearing them first because I knew they had to be top-notch material.
