Thanks to Soulaholic for organizing such a great time ! I always learn something new on this forum and last night was information overload. My favorite part was Francis Nero singing acapella for us with David Meikle and Co. joining in. Also, Spyder Turner singing along to his "Stand by me" over my right shoulder ... that cat can blow !!! Unaffiliated and uninitiated generation Xers across the bar spilt their red bull power drinks trying to applaud !! Priceless ..
Here are some pics.

Soulaholic...Nice pix. I'm glad I didn't let you talk me into taking one of me using my magnifying glass to read the labels on those 45s.

Spyder...You're right, I really don't have C.R.S., but I do have a bad case of C.S.S. (Can't See S---). Thanks again for the CD, it sounds fantastic. If I don't make it to the casino, I'll definitely see you at the Dream Cruise next month.

Great Pics all! Soulaholic, thanks so much for organizing such a fun and wonderful event. It was so delightful when Spyder and Clay broke out in sing along. It was great to meet all in attendance. I had a particularly fine conversation with Frances, learning of her youthful move from North Carolina at the tender age of 18, all alone, to the bright lights of Detroit. This was around the time I landed in the D, to work on the assembly line at the Rouge as a college student when the airwaves were ringing with the Detroit Soul sound. Bless you all.

The stories were fast and funny or info packed as you can tell by Francis, David & Harry's attention!!

I don't think that any record that was played didn't have some sort of history told or explained, such as who sang, who was back-up, who played, who produced and where it was made.

Hey Brian,
Great job last night! It was great seeing David, Harry and Lowell, and I especially enjoyed talking with Frances and Spyder! Spyder, I listened to the CD on the way home last night, and again on the way to work this morning, and I absolutely LOVED IT!!! Very smooth!! It was also great meeting you - someday we'll have to finish the conversation we started about "you know who" and how all that could have happened...not only to you, but to artists everywhere. Brian, I had a great time, and I do plan on being at the next together!! David and Harry, thanks for the invite, and I hope you guys have a great time at the Greektown Casino tonight...David don't lose too much money!!

Brian T

"Motor City" is a great, early pre-Motown Tamla 45, it's more doo-wop than R'n'B.
I think they sell for around 400 dollars.

Hi Spyder. It was good seeing you again. Mike Theodore was in town this week. If he had called me sooner, he would have been there Thursday night.

Graham,
Thanks for the info. I'll have to hope to find it in a "record buy"; way too pricey for me to get on ebay. I did find the Johnny and Jackey "Someday We'll Be Together" 45 over the Fourth of July weekend in ...Watervliet, of all places.
