Hello All: Fox TV is going to cover The Darrell Banks Memorial. They would like to do a pre-coverage spot this evening at the grave site so they can air it and invite others to pay their respect to Darrell and honor the Detroit Music scene from that time period. Then they are coming to the SD45CC at the Woodward Ave Brewery. So If you are in town and would like to go over to the grave site this evening and to the WAB for the 45 thing please come. My cell is 1-248-462-3910 Brian. |

Hello All: The film will be tomorrow on the morning local Detroit Fox show. It is 12:42 I just got back home and all I can say was it was mind blowing!!!!!!!!! Music, local Detroit Stars from the day singing along to the 45's and a goodtime was had by all!! Will post photo's tomorrow (Friday) took a ton and there was at least 6 cameras at this event besides the Fox camera. I know I took at least 50 plus shot's!! Besides the regulars Joe Moorehouse, Gary, Sideburn Slim, Dana, Leo and my self. We had David M., Harry D. Leo our travelers from Scotland and a few local Detroit artist's and producers. The Lovely Francis Nero, Spyder Turner, Dennis Coffee and Millie Felch. Plus Clay Mc Murray, Jeanna Sorenson, Gee, and Jasmine. And of course brother Ralph T via phone from Hollywood. Who was serenaded by Spyder Turner over the phone!! Heck it was such a goodtime that the Bar even turned down it's music while we were spinning the 300 or so Soulful disc's that where brought to the event. Harry & David learned that not all of the Soul tunes have been found or taken from Detroit!!!! Tony Birchett - "Don't put out the fire" on LBJ What Now Records or Berne Moore "Which way to turn" on Lark Just a few of the Detroit Sounds that got played. More to be posted!!! Once again thanks to all that showed and hope to see you at the next one. Remember the Darrell Banks Memoria; Service is Saturday @ 1pm. |

Hello Carl: I was informed by Lowell that you got the Fox ball rolling over in London. Thank you. They came to the SD45CC event and shot a ton of footage. Go to the thread we have about 40 photo's up. I have been promised by my contact at Fox to get a copy of all the footage that was shot. I will make sure you get a copy. Thanks Again |

Thanks Soulaholic. Ask your contact for the rushes and the edited transmission version if you can. I have been trying to get our BSkyB (affiliated with Fox) interested in the story over here, from a UK perspective. Sadly, they are a world news station, unlike Fox2 who transmit locally. The thing is, the footage is all in the can in Detroit. It would not cost them a penny to feed the pictures to us in London (apart from a local switch from Detroit to New York). We take pictures from New York every day and speak with them often. I have tried to get Fox New York/Weekend interested, but, I never receive any feedback. Maybe they will pick it up off the wires. Did Reuters ever turn up, as I spoke to them last week too? |
