Tamara also was the model featured on Peabo Bryson's first lp on Bullet Records. I haven't the faintest on where she is or what she's doing these days. Handsome | ||

(1) While checking the dealership computer system, I noticed that a Tamara Dobson was in the process of purchasing a vehicle. I ran to the showroom floor...but the person I saw was badly disfigured & did not look at all like the 6'2" movie star...so I figured it was just a coincidence. Maybe someone else just happened to have the same name. (This was 6-7 years ago.) (2) Someone started a thread about Tamara Dobson on the "old" forum and I did a search...hoping to find some new info. What I did find was a newspaper article stating that *a* Tamara Dobson had been severely injured in an accident (a "fiery" crash near some ski resort)...but no other detail was given. (3) I found *a* Tamara Dobson listed as operating a "Christian Day Care Center" in a sleepy town 75 miles or so outside of Los Angeles. Coincidences ? Maybe. But 2 outta 3 I can see he possibilities of. | ||

Oh good lord, that's weird info on Tamara Dobson. I've got that Peabo album on Bullet too, "Lovely Lady"--great song. This is interesting stuff, I might have to do some sleuthing on this Dobson thing myself  | ||

Yes 1Wicked... I think I was the one who talked about her accident on the old forum... I heard and that was on Soul Patrol from some reliable source a couple of years ago, that she had a bike accident that left her badly wounded. She spent a lot of time in hospital if my memory is correct and I think she had to go through cosmetic surgery because of that accident... I do not have much more on this right now but I'll see what I can come up with... She sure was a hell of a lady...  Wonder B If you mess with the 'fro, you gotta go! | ||

Wow! Wicked 1 & Wonder B, that is very new news to me! Wicked1 it most likely is her, I don't think there are many people with that name. Then I read further what Wonder B says, I guess that is why we have not seen or heard from her. That is sad to have to go through anything like that, I can only imagine what she must have gone through. Like I said before, It is a blessed thing to be able to get up every morning, then to get through the day without having any misfortune! I pray that she is doing well, otherwise. Thank you both for that info, I would have never known that, as you know how hard it is to find anything on her, but then that may be how she wants it. Wow, you know that is why when I hear people speak of others in a negative way, and think that they are better than others, I shake my head, I mean they don't realize that something of that magnitude could happen to them and then who could they talk about? Wonder B: Thanks for posting that image. Now, I'm pretty sure that was her I saw in the dealership. I had looked at some other images of her...but in most, she was wearing that beautiful 'Fro. Now, I can see her features in a more defined way, and I know that those are the same lips and, despite the diminished fire, those were the same eyes as well. Now I understand why she turned away from my glance...as if she didn't want to be recognized. (And I was the ONLY person that she came in contact with of the age and ethnic background that she MAY have felt would have or could have recognized her.) Damn. I had blown the situation off as coincidence....now I'm all messed up. Well...IF the lady I saw was Tamara Dobson, she may not look the same...but she was still beautiful...and obviously a survivor. | ||

Good evening all! Man, if what you guys are saying is true, it's very sad news. However, I would like for Ms Dobson to know that we loved you then & we love you now. In her prime she was beautiful & regardless of what her present circumstances are, our love is unconditional. She was one of our few faces on the big screen & was a pioneer in the days when we had few assertive Black women figures in the movies. I just want her to know that she was an important figure to many young Black girls in those days & all of us fellas loved her. Although I will never forgive her for being born a few years too soon for me, she will always have my admiration. I pray that she will always keep her head up & communicate with us a bit. It's a cold lonely world to tackle alone. I just wish that she could see that many of us truly care about her & have nothing but love for her, present circumstances notwithstanding!
