Some of these guys look familiar to me, but I am racking my brain! When I first saw the picture, I was thinking how much the 2nd guy looks like Jackie Jackson!!! Uncanny, especially the cheekbones. Medusa, yes he favors Sherrick a little bit too. | ||

Hello Spyder: Sylvester Potts from the Contours told Curtis Woodson the Motown Photographer who shot photo #2 that it was Joe Pepp and his Fabulous Peps who some of them later became Undisputed Truth. It sure looks like the same guys just a few years older and different haircuts. I got my info at the signing of Curtis Woodson book last night in Detroit. | ||

Charise: yes the clue was smiling faces. Joe Harris is correct. But, isn't there always a but ! Spyder thinks not and he may be right, It was some times ago and memories do get hazy. Still I spoke with Sylvester and that's how he remembers it. Curtis had just come to Motown and was waiting and heard this group warming up and he shot one photo only and did not learn who the group was till 40 years later. That was when he was putting his fabulous book together - Memories of The 1962 Motown Revue - I highly recommend the book. I bought 2 special Limited Edition produced for the Ellington-White Project that Curtis E. Woodson gave a lecture and slideshow at last night. His stories and the behind the scene things that happened where great. Sylvester Potts - Contours Bobby Rodgers - Miracles Annette Sterling Beard - Vandellas Rosalind Ashford - Vandellas Where all there and I got them to autograph the book. I am going to donate the 2nd Limited Edition signed book to Soulful Detroit to be used as an auction fund raiser to help with the sight. There are 60 pages of never before seen photos from the Motown Revue. I have poured over my copy several times already. | ||
