There's not too many Adult Contemporary/Rock artists who have the chops to sing with some good ol' fashioned soul (ex: Hall & Oates, Michael Bolton, Bill Champlin (Chicago)), and some will go as far to say Elvis, but I beg to differ on that one! Anyhoo, one artist that stands out among the rest is pop singer Kenny Loggins. Loggins, who started off as one half of the duo Loggins & Messina who had major hits like "Your Mama Don't Dance" and "Vahavella" also had solo hits such as "Whenever I Call You "Friend" and "Danger Zone" from the film Top Gun. But there are 2 standout tracks that is the subject of this thread and in my opinion, very soulful in their own right. "This Is It" from the 1979 album "Keep The Fire" and "Heart To Heart" from his 1982 album "High Adventure" and released on Columbia; are songs that I am searching info on as to find out, WHO PLAYED THEIR A@##$!S OFF! This is what I HEAR on the tracks, so I'm just guessing who did what on the songs without any knowledge of who the real personnel are-meaning, I don't have the LP jackets to see who really played. The only things I know are that Kenny collaborated with fellow blue-eyed soul singer Michael McDonald on both songs, and I think Jazz musician Bob James either produced the "Keep The Fire" or the "High Adventure" albums as I briefly glanced the liner notes to Kenny's 1995 greatest hits collection. So here are my guesses, SDF fam, help me out on this, see if I got it, or missed it.

THIS IS IT: Kenny Loggins-vocals/Michael McDonald-background vocals/Dave Grusin-synthesizers; electric piano/Victor Feldman-acoustic piano/Francisco Ceteno or Will Lee-electric bass/Eric Gale, Lee Ritenour-guitars/Steve Gadd or Jeff Porcaro-drums/Ralph MacDonald or Paulinho DaCosta-Percussion/Gene Page or Marty Paich-string arrangements

HEART TO HEART: Kenny Loggins-vocals/Michael McDonald, Steve Lukather, Bobby Kimball, David Paich-background vocals/Michael McDonald, David Foster or David Paich-electric piano; synthesizers/David Paich or Michael Omartian-acoustic piano/Steve Porcaro- synthesizers/David Hungate or Mike Porcaro-electric bass/Jeff Porcaro or Alex Acuna-drums/Jeff Porcaro or Lenny Castro-percussion/David Foster-string arrangements/Jerry Hey or Tom Scott-horn arrangements

For people like me who are thirsty for info and don't know, please let me know who really did the magic on those songs. I appreciate the co-op on this from y'all.
