Ady - How did you feel when you entered into Studio A, and sitting in the snakepit, at the very piano that Joe Hunter, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, etc sat?

Sis,
It was un real,we were watching the intro film and all i could do was look out the corner of my eye and peer at the snake pit.
Then to be able to take pic's was great,i'm sure i would have got a few anyway.
Got some more pics and here's another story from our trip.
I wanted to see 1719 gladstone st were berry and ronoma put there there tamla 45's from well tamla 101 and 102.We found gladstone st on the corner was 1745 walked down and could see a gap and would you believe it got to 1723 then no 1721,1719 just open space, never mind.
Plenty more pic's and stories will post them next week or a few at a time...Ady

Hi All,Yeah Fortune is still there, why does everyone forget GLADSTONE STREET,i know i'm from the UK but unless i'm goin out of my mind the 1st Tamla releases were from 1719 GLADSTONE STREET,well 101 Marv Johnson,102 Eddie Holland,2 names that well as far as i'm concerned are Motown itself.Didn't Ranorma also have something do do with that address, yes off course she did,but me being from England how can i say to much.Sorry Berry if i've upset you,but Motown,Jobete,i'm sure wasn't just one person's Dream!!As it happens i don't care the music, the throught, the dream, whoevers it was IT'S GREAT AND A BIG THANK YOU TO YOU ALL.....Ady/Mags.

before Gladstone Gordy was living in a rooming house(just one bedroom) just a couple blocks away when Marv Johnson was invited in so Berry could show him a suitcase filled up with songs he had under the bed.
Raynoma and Berry moved to 1719 Gladstone(upstairs flat) and started the Rayber Music Writing Company in the summer of 1958 also the Jobete name was filed in june 58 and first used on a record released in late 1958 called "I Need You" by Herman Griffin for the House Of Beauty label(HOB 112)
