Ok, Jimmy!!! I have to agree with you on the choices, although there are more to add, this list is a good one!!!! I remember my mother had the 45 of I Don't Want To Do Wrong/B-side Is There A Place(In His Heart For Me) another song that could be added and the one my mother loved!!!
I also liked this one that no one ever mentions- from the Neither One Of Us album- This Is Love.
I can't explain how an 8yr old knows about liking that kind of music, but I did!!!!!! I could not have said it better about All Our Love & Love Overboard, my sentiments EXACTLY!!!!!:-):-):-)

Good morning all! I hope that your 4th was safe & full of fun!

Hey Re Re :-) I definitely agree with you on that Gladys. Is There A Place In Your Heart For Me is simply one of their greatest performances on wax. Those harmonies were great & that song should have been a hit on its own merit. I love that song!! You've got good taste Madame!!!

Hello, Juice!!! How was your 4th? They've been doing fireworks for about two months here, all the way up to last night!!! In those two months or so, it sounded like Iraq over here, big cannons going off at 2 & 3 in the morning, some people have no respect for their neighborhoods or people who WORK for a living!! I had to chime in on Gladys, Jimmy is going to make me dig out some albums-LOL. Do you remember This Is Love? I have been having a hard time staying out of the record/cd stores, lately. I do go with a list, because if I didn't I would be picking up everything. I've been listening to her music recorded by other people for a long time now and finally had to buy some Laura Nyro-how ya like that:-):-):-). I bought Gonna Take A Miracle/with LaBelle, Gamble & Huff-produced from '71. Two soulful, songwriting white women ahead of their time, who are no longer with us-Laura Nyro & Linda Creed RIP. I did not know Nyro's last name was actually Nigro! Not sure of the pronunciation, but I'm assuming it had something to do with her changing it-LOL!!!!:-):-) Anyway, I will be picking up her greatest hits, but thought I would start off with that one first!!! When is the birthday????

Good afternoon all.

Hi Re Re! Shoot, I'd do anything to be able to shoot off my fireworks. Thanks to the "Great" (sarcasm definitely intended!!) Mr Guiliani & his successor the equally "Great" Mr Bloomberg, we citizens of N.Y. cannot possess fireworks. Man, we used to life for those beautiful displays of ours. Some fun city!! This foolish person is now going after Mr Softee trucks, as they're too noisy to some folks!!!! This P.C. crap is going too far. Now we have to be concerned about the next threat to New York....The Mr Softee truck jingle!!! THE HORROR OF IT ALL!!! Some folks just don't get it at all. I grew up on the Mr Softee jingle, that was the soundtrack of our summers!

Yes, Ms Nyro & Ms Creed wrote some of the greatest songs of our time. You had best believe that Nigro was changed to protect the innocent, as well as to insure her ability to have her compositions heard & sold. I remember This Is Love

Just don't buy Helen Reddy!!!!! I couldn't forgive you if you do :-)

I'll e-mail you off line about the birthday. I'm not much for the birthday hoopla. I know that this will sound crazy & unbelievable but, I'm actually a bit bashful about it. Sounds hard to believe, doesn't it?

Juice, DANG no fireworks at all? Now that is not right! I agree with you, some of the PC stuff is way out of control, but wait, I know you are not talking about the ICE CREAM truck! Shut Up-LOL:-):-). That is taking it too far! We don't have a regular truck that comes through the neighborhood and I do miss hearing that! When I do hear it, sometimes when I'm on my route, the memories flashback! I smile and then I think about Eddie Murphy's skit on the Ice Cream Man-LOL! Don't you just love it when people can tell you what you can and cannot have, and you did not vote for them in the first place??? I had to chuckle about the Helen Reddy remark, because I did like some of her songs!!! Yes, it is hard to believe, kinda, but I understand. I'm already thinking about how I will feel going in to another decade next year, God willing!

Jimmy Mack I love the comments you added along with your top ten!

There was a GK&P top five thread not too long ago, which may be why this one isn't getting much action.

My top ten would look a lot like yours, except I'd have to include Help Me Make It Through The Night and Friendship Train.

Friendship Train
Neither One Of Us
If I Were Your Woman
Imagination
The Way We Were
Help Me Make It Through The Night
And This Is Love
Letter Full Of Tears
Part-Time Love
Mercy's Arms
