Just gotta tell you about the new forthcoming album by Swing Out Sister. "Where Our Love Grows" is the title of the album, and I have heard a track called "Let The Stars Shine". The whole album has a retro 60's feel to it. The track I heard was just beautiful. They've been around now for a good few years haven't they, but in my opinion, their music just keeps getting better. Do a search on the net, and try to listen to a few tracks. You won't be sorry. Real music, for real music lovers. Rich. www.solarradio.com The Home Of Soul. |

For those that may be interested,I have just done some research on your behalf, and it would seem the new album has been available from Japan at a ridiculous price since April of this year. The good news however, is that it get a much more affordable UK release on July 27th. Isn't that the same release date for Stevie's new album A time 2 Love ?. |

Thanks You Carl, I love all their material. So classy, sophisticated, regal, debonair, chic and very urban hip. Like Bright lights in a big city. Is the only way to best describe the duo. Even jazz heads even dig em. Thanks once again Carl. Don |

Richard & Don: I've been a big SOS fan since they released "Breakout" in the summer of 1987. Their albums are all excellent IMHO and should definitely be heard. The late Barbara Acklin told me years ago before she passed that SOS' version of her minor 1968-69 hit "Am I The Same Girl" (a/k/a "Soulful Strut") was her favorite. Recommended Hearing: Tracks: FROM "IT'S BETTER TO TRAVEL" Breakout (1987) Twilight World (1987) Surrender (1987-88) FROM "KALEIDESCOPE WORLD" Waiting Game (1989) Forever Blue (1989) You On My Mind (1989) (Note - composer Jimmy Webb collaborated with the group on this album) FROM "NOTGONNACHANGE" "Am I The Same Girl" (1992) "Don't Change A Word" (1992) FROM "THE LIVING RETURNS" "Better Make It Better" (1994) "La La Means I Love You" - yes, the Delfonics classic! (1994) They did record other albums afterward as well as an excellent live disc that is only available as a Japanese import. Kevin Goins - KevGo |

SOS has got to be one of my all-time favorite bands. I played "Not Gonna Change" so much on cassette that I eventually had to replace it with the CD version. They also did a nice version of "Stoned Soul Picnic" on a later release. I will buy a Swing Out Sister album without first hearing a single track anyday. For me, that's like guaranteed good music. Thanks for the new release info! |
