Hi guys. Dinelle here. I know it might be a little late in the day for this, but this is like the first time I've been on the forum all day. Anyway, today is Jean Knight's birthday. She's 61 years young today. And I'm glad to call her a native of New Orleans. So I hope it's a box of chocolates. |

Happy Birthday to the "Mr. Big Stuff" lady!! What happy momments I lived when, at my teens, I played one time and another this tune, when I bought "Takin' You There" (a Stax compilation with Jean Knight, Frederick Knight, Dramatics...). Good memories. Thanks Dinelle. Peace & Soul Food |

Hi Dinelle!!! Big up & Happy Birthday to your Native girl!! She sure told Mr Big Stuff where to go & I sure loved that song. I was a few years younger than you when that song came out. What days those were. You know, you would have fit in perfectly back then. You've got that sweetness from that era when we treated each other better. Please, don't ever lose it!!! What's that Isaiah calls you, Wildflower??? You just keep your head up always Juice |

Nice picture, Wonder. She looks really beautiful. Hi, Juice. Yes, Isaiah calls me Wildflower. I think I was probably reincarnated from a person who was raised in the 50's, 60's, or 70's. Either that, or my mom really raised me on a lot of R&B. |

Hi Dinelle, Yes, you do have that "Old School" charm. I enjoy seeing you here loving our music. Then again, New Orleans loves the soul for real. From The Meters to Dr John, they eat, sleep & breathe Soul & Funk. I guess that it's definitely in your blood as well. It must be something in the water! |

Happy Birthday to Jean Knight a very soulful lady who let those guys know in a very catchy way, "Mr. Big Stuff Who Do You Think You Are". May your day be blessed and full of good cheer. |

I don't know if it's anything in the water here, but I do think that it's genetic in this part of the family. |

I had the distinct pleasure of producing an album on Jean Knight and premium for Cotillion in 1981. Right after she had the hit with You got the papers, but I got the man, henry Allen asked me to produce the album. Jean is the consumate pro and a wonderful and down to earth woman and she can make one serious pot of gumbo!!!! Happy birthday Jean, I will always cherish our magical musical moments!!! |
