I think the first time I heard Tata, she was singing "Come In Heaven, Earth Is Calling". From that moment on, I've been a fan of Ms Vega. My favorite song is "I Just Keep Thinking About You Baby". Hopefully someday soon, some one will release a best of or an ultimate collection. |

Tata is one of the best...The supreme song stylist....She's capable of singing ANYTHING as her Motown albums proved. I think my favorite work of hers is the Earthquire album (1972-Natural Resources) and the "Try My Love" album... She also did a very rare album in Sweden in 1988 called "Time's So Right", which took her to the top of the Swedish charts... |

Luke, Tata is still around making music today. I was send a few demos (not that long ago), one of the songs was recorded with Michael B. Sutton (of Mike & Brenda Sutton fame). Classy stuff! The album which Iconspen (Tim Dillenger?) is refering to was produced by Tate Vega's ex husband Jeffrey VanderPlate who died of lung cancer May, 7 (2004). Tata has her own website; www.tatavega.com On her site you can read an amazing article titled 'Tata Vega Making Peace with her Painful Past' A MUST READ!! I hope this helps... Yes, she does Jimmy. She can also sing very high and very low--a wide vocal range. |
