How many people knew that Patrice Holloway provided vocals for the "Josie & The Pussycats" cartoon series in the 70s? |

She was the singing voice for Valerie Brown. Actress Barbara Pariot provided the speaking voice. |

It's in the Joel Whitburn Billboard Top 100 book under Josie and the Pussycats. |

It's good that she finally got some exposure to the general public. She was a great singer, not unlike her sister. It's a great shame that Motown didn't record her more, promote her career, and release lots of her product. I really like her versions of "For The Love Of Mike" and "The Touch of Venus".. Her Capitol cuts were great, too. |

She recorded for Capitol in the mid-late '60s and early 1970s. Motown has released at least "The Touch of Venus" and "For The Love Of Mike" on C.D. If I'm not mistaken, I remember seeing at least one more of her Motown recordings on C.D., but I'm not positive. Nothing was released on vinyl, on a commercial pressing; and I haven't heard of any vinyl DJ's or masters pressed. |

I have still got her 1966 Capitol single produced by Billy and Gene Page - Love and Desire, coupled with Ecstasy. I never showed my parents that one!! |

I knew! I knew that Patrice was a Pussycat before I even knew who she was! LOL. Is anyone familiar with these two early 70's Patrice Holloway disks?: Capitol 3176 - Evidence / That's The Chance You Gotta Take - 1971 Capitol 3265 - Black Mother Goose / That's The Chance You Gotta Take - 1972 I'm thinking that 'Evidence' is the same tune that was a hit for the Sweet Inspirations in 1971. There's also a version by Candi Staton. If Patrice's 'Evidence' is the same tune it's very deep and funky R&B and it would be quite a departure from Patrice's Pop Soul recordings of the 60's and the things she recorded with Josie & The Pussycats. I'd love to hear it. |
