Salutations and Smiles to all Soulies: Well the Motown chapter of the Soulful Detroit 45 Collectors Club had it's fourth monthly meeting and it had an international flair to it. Once again we meet at The Woodward Ave Brewery for the spinning of the disc's and the tilting of a few pints. Those who showed where as following, Sideburn Slim and Dana, Gary, Soulaholic and Ady & Madge our guest for the evening from the much cooler as they were telling us Island of Britian. Cheers mates!! We listened to a ton of local Detroit and 60's/70's tunes, shot a few pics, which I will post later and had a brilliant time. The only real glich in the night was that Ady didn't sound like he was speaking in "english" or at least it seemed that way to my Bostonian ears!! lol Ady would go on I would be polite and tell him I didn't hear him because of the music and the background sounds in the bar. The truth be told I sometime's didn't have a clue as to what he was saying. lol Thank god when we post there are no accents!! Could you imagine what it would sound like if a couple of the Brits, Manny, Heikki, myself with the Bahston slang and a few of the NYC cats where all talking to each other. We would need a UN translator to get through all the accents and dialects and never mind if old Paulie Three Shoe's $#@^&*^$ mahrone!!!! fagedaboutit! was thrown into the mix!! Beside the difference of a common tounge, we had a great time. I will post later some pics and the list of what was played and talked about. We are looking at doing a big SD45CC Shindig when David and the crew comes in July (not to be confused with the Cass Bar get together). | ||

You know Gary promised to show me his Tattoo later if I was good?? What did he mean by that?? lol. Once again after some crazy tunes and a few pints the clothes always seem to come off?? First Sideburn Slim and now Ady. It must be the Music. Sideburn Slim, I must give some respect and credit to Slim for a young dude he comes up with some smoking old school detroit gems!! | ||

Hello John: Please fill in the meaning behind your post?? Was that the artist?? Ady told me he had to find a proper picture then enlarge it so it would fill the space and then get it to curve right on his body so the prospective was right! There was a fellow in the brewery that night who worked at as an "Ink slinger" Tattoo Artist. He loved the art! Think about it how many individuals put company logo's on their bodies?? Out side of Harley Davidson and the USMC in the state's I can't think of many more logo's. I have a close up of the Gordy & the Motown that I have to scale down in bytes to fit into the parameters required to post on the site when I get that figured out I will post them both!! | ||
