Hi this is Kev-Lo you know when we talk about child acts of classic soul of course The 5 Stairsteps and The jackson 5 were just about the only child acts most of us would mention the most. But going into the 70's more child acts would come in to surface. Lke THE PONDEROSA TWINS PLUS ONE they came out did a superb job on Sam Cooke's You Send Me followed by their 1971 cut called Bound. In 1972 another child act from chicago hit the suface they were THE BRIGHTER SIDE OF DARKNESS who did their one and only top 10 soul hit Love Jones. But then the group faded out and we have'nt heard anything else from them. Other child acts like JIMMY BRISTOL AND THE LITTLE BEAVERS and THE 21st CENTURY which sounded a bit like the brighter side of darkness had a cut called Remember The Rain. these were some child acts of classic soul that were great but did'nt get to stick around like other groups. But never the less they should not be forgotten. |
