Bulee "Slim" Gaillard was born in Detroit on January 14, 1916 and died on February 26, 1991. His biggest hit was "Cement Mixer" which peaked at #5 on Billboard's Most-Played Juke Box Race Records chart in 1946. | ||

Mel, Yes, I got into Slim a few years ago. Talk about the original hep cats. I have a track of his where Charlie Parker and other bop players get introduced and start playing. Fun stuff.
