I've never heard the Delia Gartrell and The Soul Seekers. Is the Delia Gartrell a Detroit record? Is it the same "Fight Fire With Fire" that Frances Nero did on Soul? Where was The Soul Seekers' recorded? Who were the productin people? Oh yeah...I also have never heard Brenda Holloway's "I'm On The Right Track". Was it an unreleased Motown, - or did she record it after leaving Motown (Music Merchant, or a later label)? I have "Time" by The Parliaments on Revilot. Did they re-record it on Westbound? The enchanters' record was picked up from Mercer Records (run by Mercer Ellington -Duke Ellington's son). |

Hey Robb K: I thought for sure you would be one of the individuals that would know them all. Yes you are correct on the Parliaments they are on Revilot, a typo on my part!! It was late and I mixed the cd while mixing up a picture of strawberry margaritas, enjoyed the tunes and the berries!!! Now for your other questions; Soul Seekers are on Mormax records tune written by M. Harrison with the lead singer Marion Hannah (male) Published by Smart Music. No production credit given. It is a very soulful gospel tune. Yes the Brenda is an unreleased Motown, I believe I can scrounge up an other, if I do it's yours. No promise but I will try. The Delia Gartrell was produced by Hannibal and arranged byJay T. Shaw - Right-On Records is a subsidary of Farem Productions Inc. It is the B-side to a tune called See What You Done Done (Hymn #9). This tune slams and Delia is gettin' it when she gets into how she is gonna get him back!!! Did not know the Enchanters went to Mercer have only seen it on Coral. This is just my take on what I like that may or not be considered N. Soul. To me it's all good Soul Music with a beat. Hey M. Yes the Eric & the Vikings tune is a sweet sound. Like it very much. |
