Let's have some fun -- I'm asking SDFers to construct their own musical Mount Rushmore -- the most important people in your musical head. A few rules, 'cause we gotta have 'em:

1. You must pick four, just like on the real Mount Rushmore -- no more, no less.

2. They must be Americans. No Beatles, no Joni Mitchell/Neil Young, etc.

3. They must have done the bulk of their work in the 20th century.

4. This ain't about starting fights -- this is about having fun!

Here are my choices:

1. Brother Ray
2. Johnny Cash
3. Louis Armstrong
4. Muddy Waters

Your turn!

Vic,

I can't see Mt Rushmore without Brother Ray or Louis Armstrong. I Love Johnny Cash and he cast a big shadow over Country, and to some extent, over Rock and Blues also. That said, I'm gonna keep your list, except I would replace Muddy (and I love Muddy, thx to J. Winter and others) with B. Gordy.

I'm not really comfortable having 4 men and no women, so I may have to revisit this. Nice concept.
