About a year ago, someone posted about a CD of airchecks from at least one great DJ from the day in Detroit or Philly, I believe. I searched the archives but have had no luck. I think the CD was available on request or for sale. I loved the posts of our favorite DJs down the list, but look forward to hearing if anyone recalls the CD I'm referring to.

Thanks,

PhillyG.

You might want to try www.reelradio.com You can search their collection by jock or call letters. I don't believe they actually sell air check CD's, but it might be a place to start. Droping Art Vuolo a line c/o www.vuolovideo.com might not be a bad idea either. These might give you a head start, but only if you remember, WIBBAGE lives!

Reelradio is a lot of fun. The night I discovered it, I was up half the night listening ...

How do you know Wibbage, Doug? I lived in Philly til I was 10 and then went back every summer so I heard WIBG ...

Sue....
.....indirectly through John Landecker. It's been a long time, but my memory tells me he was at the Michigan State network the same time a friend of mine was. Either that, or working at WJIM. My friend did an excellent parody of his "John 'Records' Landecker" intro. By the way, I haven't listened, but try www.philaradio.com

If you want the real deal you can get it from The Aircheck Factory, located in Wild Rose, Wisc. From them I've bought tapes of Alan Freed in 1955, Kenny Everett on UK pirate radio in 1968, Roger Christian on KHJ in 1965, Dick Biondi on WLS in 1962, and a dozen more. They have literally thousands of tapes for sale. I personally don't enjoy Reelradio because of the hackwork editing that they do on most everything; whatever you get from The Aircheck Factory is unadulterated and untampered with..

Yea, Marshall, butReelradio let's you listen to the checks in the comfort of your own computer. That's an impressive list at The Aircheck Factory, though.

Thanks group, for the leads on airchecks. All great sites to be sure. By the way, I know Art Vuolo who is a pioneer of video airchecks of djs all over the place. I didn't realize that what I had seen on the posts a long time ago, was Weldon's DVD. I'm ordering it from him. Has anyone else seen it? Thanks to all!

PhillyG.
