Did anyone see the show? How did you think Mary Wilson did? I think she is a background singer and should stay there. I thought Carla Thomas was the BOMB!!!!!!!!!! I had a chance to see her a couple of years ago here in Toledo, and completely forgot about the show. If she ever comes this way again, i'll be there. |

I am glad Mary didn't stay in the background. She has a beautiful voice and a great stage presence. Just my opinion -- don't wanna start no Supremes wars up in here. But Mary's a'ight in my book. |

I enjoyed this film in the theaters, so I made sure to get the dvd once it was released. I enjoyed all of the performances. But I particularly enjoyed Carla, as I have always been a fan. And, of course, daddy Rufus stole the show. Regarding Mary Wilson, I have seen her in person many times. And each time I am surprised by how good she is. Whenever I've seen her on television, it pales considerably to what I've seen in concert. Personally, I think she does better on non-Supremes material. But she has to perform those. That's what draws the crowds. (Message edited by Reese on September 16, 2004) |

I have the DVD and enjoyed watching it.I think its worth purchasing if you like to watch performances more then a couple of times. I agree with Reese that Mary Wilson comes off better in person and on non-Supremes material, I guess because we're so use to those songs with Diana's voice that maybe they don't sound right with another voice. She can sing and always could. |

Mary kicks butt when she sings a ballad (IMO). That's where she's best. I'd love to see her do a show with no Supremes material, perhaps singing only standards or some type of ballads. |

Mary's fantastic! I've seen her perform many times. I love her recording "Walk The Line" and believe it would've been a hit had it received airplay. She did do a video for this number which I saw shown in a dance club in Orlando. Carla Thomas can SING!!! |

I saw this in theater and loved it. I love Ann Peebles too. Ditto to Mary comments--lets remember Eddie Holland wanted her to do the lead on Where Did Our Love Go--and just listen to I Keep It Hid on Jimmy Webb album---she knocks ballads out of the stadium. |

Good Morning SD: I caught the airing yesterday afternoon on SHOWTIME, it'll air again this Friday at 8PM Chicago time. I wished the film had of been longer cause there is such a rich history coming from all these great artist. Did I see a new group of PEACHES backing "The Iceman" Jerry Butler? RIP David Porter and Rufus Thomas both will be definitely missed. Don Chgo, IL |

This movie was on one of the STARZ channels recently and I only caught the part where Carla and Rufus Thomas were performing, one of the guys from Sam and Dave and Issac Hayes. Oh...and Jerry Butler's performance of FOR YOUR PRECIOUS LOVE! I did see it on DVD, so it is on my list for purchase!
