I read in the local Detroit paper that the Funks will be performing at a vip party at the opening ceremonies tomorrow (thursday). The opening cerimonies will be televised on the golf channel live thursday from 4 till 6pm eastern daylight time. It's kind of strange how this slipped thru the cracks without any fan fair. Unless,of course the article was incorrect |

Hey Lynn, I saw that performance listed on the Funk Brothers tour dates. I had no idea it would be televised though. -Steve |

Ray,I think one of the best perks of being a musician is getting in to these expensive vip events that one wouldn't normaly attend and meeting these vip's and finding out that they wish they could do what your doing.LOL Say hi to Babbitt for me.We worked in a few bands together. |

Well spotted Sis. Sky is a great TV station here in the UK broadcasting the very best US golf coverage, in addition to many other channels. Sky productions work very hard to bring tournaments to the UK for viewers who enjoy the USPGA, LPGA, EPGA and stuff like The Ryder Cup. I know it will be buzzing tonight at work, as I work in the technical area that will bring those television signals into the UK. The American technicians are always so obliging when there are issues to resolve. We often talk about the music and discuss Detroit on many occasions. I was hoping Ken Sands may have been in the sound truck helping out. |

I understand there was a sell out months ago. The tickets were extemely expensive. The request for tickets were so great, they had to have special rules. Well, here we go, Europe -v- USA, and the Funk Brothers to top it off for all of us. When the Funks funish with Europe, they will be dancing on the golf course. This is going to be a hard one for the USA. They have a job on their hands. But, we're a winner, and they're having the Ryder Cup in the right place, in the Detroit Metro area, better known as "The Urbs." |

I guess they are partying with the "Legends For Children". I saw C.P. Spencer, Freda Payne, Sherri Paye, Maxine Powell, and Pervis Jackson. (As you can see, I am not with the incrowd) If you missed it earlier. They are repeating the Funk Brothers on the Gold Channel now. |

It's too bad how things turned out however, I will cherish my times with you all for the rest of my life. No vocalist could ask for more! Tell Uriel I miss him most of all and I thank him for the opportunity to work with the 'Funk Brothers.' If you see Kelly, tell him I said HELLO and xxxooo. Bye bye for now... Deegirl |
