I just found out drummer Kenny Buttrey has died at age 59. Probably best known for his work with Bob Dylan and Neil Young, he also played on Robert Knight's "Everlasting Love" and Arthur Alexander's "Anna".

Thanks for posting this Garo. I wasn't familiar with the guy but it appears the world lost a good drummer.

No frills, no flash, just solid and truly tasteful drumming. His work with Area Code 615 and Barefoot Jerry set the standard for southern rock, and he was a giant among session men here in Nashville.

His favorite performance: "Lay, Lady Lay"

Fred,

Do you know if he played on the whole Nashville Skyline album by Dylan? I'm assuming the Lay Lady Lay version you were referring to. Tonight I'll Be Staying Here With You were my fave lyrics on the album, and it could use a remake.

Medusa,

Earlier this summer, we sent them Dr. Nathan Carter. He single handedly transformed Morgan's choir from a "glee club" to an internationally known chorus. He may not be in charge, but I'm sure he's on the staff.

Destruction--I believe he does play on the entire Nashville Skyline LP. He may have done some other work with Dylan as well.

RIP, Kenny. :-(

Best,

Mark
