graham told me about livernois's title of avenue of fashion.

do you recall this?

did you hang about livernois, or was it a case of drive to there and return to indian village after work.

were there bars up there you would frequent for example?

Yes David I recall Livernois as being referred to as The Avenue of Fashion. The neighborhood the studios were in was an older one but had a lot of charm still. There was a Cunningham's drug store ( a Detroit chain ) across the street from the studio which still had the old fashioned soda fountain and lunch counter. We would send out for lunch there often. Les Chasey had told them about a particular kind of grilled cheese sandwich he liked to make with tomamtos and onions I think, and they started making it special for us. They called the sandwhich " The Tera Shirma "
Plus there was a nice Italian restaurant down the street. Next door to the studio, between Studio B and Studio A was Goodfriend Plumbing. The owner was Sidney Goodfriend ..a plumbing contractor. He would come into the studio often to visit. A real nice guy that just like to see the sessions I guess. So my point is, though ageing, the area was a real neighborhood.
I wasn't living in Indian Village at that time. That woud come later. I was livng on the East side of the city by Gratiot and 7 Mile road.
