Hello again!

Im trying to find out if Stevie Wonder had a band for recording this track or if he used the Funk Brothers to record this song!! The drummer on it is amazing. If you listen to his breaks, he never hit a tom-tom once. From a drummers perspective that takes a lot of discipline! :)

Anyway if anyone has any info Id appreciate it!

I believe that Stevie played at least the drums and clav parts. I have a good friend n Lee Garrett who co-wrote it with Stevie and also It's a shame and Let's get serious.
Lee is also visually challenged and lived in Detroit and had a radio show as the rockin mr g!!

I heard that Stevie recorded Signed Sealed as a demo and played it for BG, who said it was OK as it was. Wonder if it's true?

Good Morning all!

Who played the Sitar intro and who played the bass on that song?

Also, Mr. Ashford, when you played the tamborine part was that improvised or did Stevie specifically want that? I mean did he say "keep going" or was it written in the charts?

I believe that a lot of great music comes from things that just happen!

Stevie played as many parts as he could. He was and hopefully still is amazingly good at drums.

I really wish he and Smoky could make another record with the surviving Funk Brothers. I have a hunch the results would defy conventional wisdom and put both of them right back on top of the charts. There was more substance to the music than any genre or "style." It isn't just nostalgia, it was created by multiple generations and appreciated by multiple generations.

Hey Guys,
I don't post here very often, I just browse in to read about all the great stories. To me it sounds like that there are 2 drummers on Signed, Sealed, Delivered. Is it possible that a second drum track was overdubbed?

NO WAY!!!!!!

I dont believe that I am talking to some of the people responsible for some of the best music in the world!!! Outstanding!!!

Babbitt, How was this song presented to you? Was it improvised or did Stevie come to you with sheet music or was it a producer!!

Please elaborate!!

Hey Bob!
Yeah, Steveland Morse played drums on an overdub
I did for him at Golden World(Studio B Motown).
There are two sets of drums on it, Pistols and Steves.
