"Here is a pic of a typical mid 70's string session at Sigma studio B.
It probably was during my Impact sessions with Damon Harris"

Wow, Bobby, Thanks for this picture. It sure brings back memories. The Philly string section were some chart reading somebodies. Do you have a picture of Don Renaldo. He was such a fabulous personality. Bring on the Archives, "B"

I just got a tremendous craving for a pepper and egg sandwhich, with a touch of tabasco, on a hard roll!! I can almost envision the racing forms and I am sure that it will be Man O'War in the fifth!!!

The players are: front left to right: Tony Sinagoga, and Davis Barnett. Middle row are:Rudy Malasia and Don Renaldo, back row are:Jesse ?
Charlie Appollonia and Richard Jones, who also doubled as Stylistics musical director. The cellist, Romeo Di Stefano, is out of the camera's view to the front.I can stillhear Don's gruff south Philly voice booming in the room. He kept everybody in tow!!

CENT ANNI!!!!

Bobby

You WERE doing a hell of a job....make no mistake about that....and you know all of us here, are behind that statement - 100%

We all have a lot to thank you for.....you only have to look at our record collections to see that!

Sometimes I read your posts and pinch myself to prove that this is all really happening. For so long, the unsung heros have not been given their proper dues...and to now have access to talking to them..it's like, as the Temps sung, a "Dream Come True"

Thanks so much John. What a lovely way to start the day by reading your post.
It still amazes me and I have to sometimes pinch mtself as well because when I reflect on all of the records that I have been associated with and all of the fine people who I have met and rubbed shoulders with over the years I myself have a hard time believing it.
one quick story. In 1984, I was producing a girl calles Lydia Murdock at Power Station in NYC andthe company wanted to know if I could get the Philly strings and horns up there to the studio. So I wrote the charts, and then I called Don Renaldo and asked him and he said "sure kid, when do ya want us there, kid?" so he actually charted a bus that the company paid for and came on up. During this session, Madonna was doing the Like a virgin album upstairs in studio C and she saw all the musicians and she asked me if she could come in and watch us!!!
So I obliged, of course. It was also around the time of her birthday so we all got her a cake!
