Dear Bobby,

I remember the first time I heard the name Bobby Eli, it was when I was 11 years old. My older sister lived in the Strawberry Mansion community in North Philadelphia. I spent many summers at my sister's house playing tag and hide and seek with my niece, nephew and brother. I remember hiding around the corner from my sisters house near a drug store(chemist) named Lev's, located at 32nd and Diamond Street. I heard music coming from over the drug store and wondered what was going on. I asked some of the neighborhood kids about the music and they told me it was a "white kid" who played a guitar and always had musicians, singer, gang members and everyone who wanted to be involved in music in his house. They told me this kids house was called Switzerland because gang rivals never fought; they just wanted to hear the music. This kid was known as the "Piped Piper" of Strawberry Mansion, everyone flocked to his house to hear the music. I never actually met Bobby at that time but our paths would again cross musically and romantically 5 years later. He became my first boyfriend and I became his first girlfriend.
