can anyone tell us anything about herman who wrote a number of songs for ric tic eg. al kent and the fantastic 4.
there was also a 'weems' co-wrote with l.dandridge on sam & kitty's 'i've got something good'
good grief, that record brings back memories (4 brothers label)

I've got listed the following:
Heart, Amore, Desire 102 - Evans Clark & Herman Weems - A Brighter World
Arc Lark 504 - Hot'N'Heavy All Stars - Dirty Deal/A Brighter World (voc. & instr.) same backing track as Combination Inc on same label and also Evans & Herman!

ah, the great weems mystery! i've been trying to find this guy for a while. i think it's herMON, not herman. i have the arc lark and the heart amore desire (the latter is a better version of the instrumental with added flute) but have had no success finding anyone involved. what makes this especially interesting for me is that as a child in detroit c. 1972 i was friends with a kid named HERMON WEEMS who must have been this guy's son!
and the weems on the chicago records is a different guy, willie weems.

David, I remember seeing Herman at Golden World a lot but I don't remember too many details. I thought he worked for Ed Wingate for awhile.

Dennis,
Herman worked for Ed and his name appears on some of the Ric-Tic 45s.

Hi John,
Been having domestic problems which involved moving out of my flat. I don't as yet have an
internet connection at home so I'm using an
internet cafe in Glasgow which involves a bit
of travelling. This site is soooo busy it takes
me a full day to catch up on what's been going
on. I'll be contributing more stuff when I get
online at home - the problem with the internet
cafe is that you can't load stuff from disc so it
takes a lot more time having to write out stuff
then type it in at the cafe.
Thanks for asking - I'm always here in spirit.

Hi Graham,
I don't know - haven't heard the Dee Edwards
record.
"I Think I've Got A Good Chance" was recorded
by J.J.Barnes (Organic 1) - the B-side is the
instrumental backing track. Don't know the exact
release date but it's probably 1970. It fits in
between leaving Don Davis and joining Perception.
