This forum is really something exciting. I seem to have lost the interest of my fiance Phillysoulman to the forum. It has captured all of his interest. I checked out some of the posts and I can certainly understand his fascination. I would like to commend this site for being a true promotor of the best period of my teen years. When I was 16 years old, I met and dated Bobby Eli and we were involved very deeply with the Motown scene. This site has taken me back to one of the happiest periods of my life.

PS Bobby and I are back to our teen romance once again.

I've just been playing my Impact 45's and i especially love "Winning combination" (ATCO) which you co-wrote with Phil Hurtt (another great talent that i have 45's by in some way or another).
It kills me! "..just like bacon & eggs, mini skirts & sexy legs .." some lyrics that really were easy to relate to and still are.I also like the name check that Charles or John give you near the end-(I know it wasn't Damon)
- a fantastic effort all-round that really should have gone places.

Hi Phil,

I am so glad that you like the Impact records. Are you aware that there is an album as well?
It is called " Impact" and there is a drawing of a rhino interspersed with the group members on the cover. On the song Winning Combination, the lead was sung by Quentin. The others were Charles,who is now Karim, Donald,who they called "pimp" and of course Damon. Originally when they were the Vandals, before Damon joined the Tempts, Billy Griffin was also in the group.
