Hey Y'all, post a happy 51st birthday message to Billy Bass Nelson & you can be sure he'll read it. Billy is an original Funkadelic and a RnR Hall-of-Famer who played on a tremendous amount of Motown records in the 70's who was steady working in Detroit from '68-'73 before relocating to LA with Motown in '74 where he did session work with just about everybody for another 10 years. For those who aren't familiar with Billy's style check out the Commodores "I Feel Sanctified" or the Tempts "Happy People".

I don't know if Billy lurks here but he's played with P-Funk All Stars on & off for the last few years... I'd have played him tonight when I did my show had I known... played 'Fingertips' & 'Uptight' as a nod to Hank Cosby though.... /Erik

When I read about Mr Cosby's passing away on this forum it moved me. Later , I went to my local record shop, here in Chiswick, and once again they amazed me. Every time I go in they seem to be playing soul stuff. That day was no exception. They were playing Stevie Wonders greatest hits. I asked to look at the CD sleeve and there was Hank Cosby's name on the appropriate tracks. It was very soothing to know his stuff is as current as the charts, especially when I have never heard a chart track in that shop.
