HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD OF 3G'S RECORDS AND GOOD AS GOLD MUSIC.
IT WAS OWNED BY A GERRY GOLDSMITH A WEALTHY SCRAPYARD OWNER WHO OWNED AND STILL OWNS ALL STATE METALS.
ANOTHER PERSON WHO WORKED FOR HIM WAS A BRIAN SPEARS WHO WAS A GOOD FRIEND OF DON DAVIS AND WORKED WITH HIM FOR A TIME.
I DID SOME STUFF FOR THEM IN PHILLY BUT IT WAS NOT UNTIL THE EIGHTIES.HE ORIGINALLY WAS INVOLVED WITH ANITA BAKER WHEN NO ONE WANTED HER. IF ANYONE HAS ANY INFO PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

The only "Three G's" record I'm aware of is by The Superlatives (label #1001).
The A side is called "It's The Real Thing (Your Love)" and was written by B J Damone.
The flip is "Forget Him" and was written by R Washington, A Johnson and J Damone. Maybe they were members of The Superlatives?
Both sides were produced by Cliff Gorov and arranger by the one and only Joe Hunter. Both sides are Good and Gold BMI.
The group sound like they want to be The Delfonics. I'll dig out an advert for The Superlatives appearing at The 20 Grand I have - I think they were appearing on a Solid Hitboubnd Revue - which may be a link to Don Davis.
What else do you know about this 45 Mr Phillysoulman?
Here are a few more Detroit labels that may be familiar to you...
Magic City, Black Gold, Flaming Arrow and Fee.
Best wishes, Graham

If I recall correctly, I believe this record was based on the Coca-Cola jingle "it's the real thing". I'll have to dig it up and play it again.

Speaking of Coca Cola connections...

Anyone remember a nice mid-tempo side called "Things Go Better With Love" by the Duncan Brothers, evidently inspired by the sixties jingle "Things go better with - Coca Cola"?

Ooh, and how about that great Supremes Coke jingle to the tune of "When The Lovelight Starts Shining"! Good one!
