Hi David, Yes I remeber the melody theater. It was aporno house for the last 20 years or so. It was torn down about 4 years ago because it was a nuisance and ther had been several pandering arrests there.

Back in 75 I used to play at a place called the Roxy which is now a strip club called 747 or something like that. It was about a mi past the melody. All of this being in the mich/merriman/ middlebelt area.

People may not know that the city of Inkster was a jumping place years ago with lots of big name entertainment coming thru.

What is your interest in the melody? I suspect ther may have been music there!! However it was actually a very seedy place for the last 20yrs.

I forgot to thank Fury for pointing out Nolan Strong being in Westlawn. Do you know where in the cememtery his gravesite is?

i have as advert somewhere showing a motown female group playing the melody.

looked a very professional ad and i thought to myself...must have been quite a nice place!

unfortunately i can't lay my hands on it right now.

regarding westlawn, when i was there in april i asked the attendant if he knew where the grave of eddie bongo brown (motown musician) was. i got a blank stare!

but if you're down that way you might get somebody else who would be more helpful.

i would like to see both these headstones.

(sorry for being so morbid folks)

Morbid? Hardly! In fact you are keeping these important people alive thru this site and your interest in soul and r&b. This is how immortality works for us humans!!!
