Hi Medusa,

I'll see what I can come up with here:

The problem with Jodeci was the same thing that's afflicted groups for years....EGO! What happened was basically an ego thing. In fact, Devante Swing titled his production company, "For My Damn Self". Kinds tells you something, doesn't it. He did much of the music, but K-Ci & JoJo got the lions share of attention.

As far as Brownstone is concerned, if memory serves me correctly, their lead singer suffered from Asthma. She suffered with Asthma so badly that she left the group & even introduced her replacement. Their situation was further complicated as they recorded for Michael Jacksons MJJ label. We all know how his relationship with Sony turned out.

Blaque is still around. I believe that they have a release forthcoming soon.

Hi Medusa,

The last that I heard of Christopher Williams, he was doing those Gospel type plays.

Medusa:
Color Me Badd disbanded in 1996 - they recorded three albums for Giant/Warner Brothers and one for Epic Records. Sam Watters (the Kenny G-looking dude) has gone on to compose tunes for Britney Spears, Christinal Aguilera and has sung backup for Celine Dion.

As for Jodeci - yes, DeVante Swing did go ego-crazy but K-Ci and JoJo Hailey wanted to go on as a duo and record music that "everyone could listen to - from kids to Grandma" (their own words). It worked - the duo scored two platinum albums and had a huge hit with the ballad "All My Life" in 1997 (#1 Pop and R&B).

Rachelle Ferrell is doing more live appearances and club tours than recording - and she kicks major butt in concert (saw her at the Beacon Theatre in NYC).

Clay McMurray can also fill you in on Brownstone - his daughter was a member of the trio.

Perri never received their due as recording artists...but are still doing background vox in-studio and live.

D'Angelo has guested on a couple of recent projects (including Roy Hargrove's "Rh Factor...Hard Groove"....laying down the "wolflurk" vocals on a Funkadelic remake)....but word has it that his "nose" is getting in the way of greater successes.
