Now that we have a thread with songs about I'm yours for keeps, how about a list of songs about you can't keep me for long. How many can you name?
Example:
"Yours Until Tomorrow"-Vivian Reed
"Until It's Time For You To Go"-New Birth
"Ready Made Family"-Creative Funk or Source(?)
"You Better Go"-Derek Martin
"Dark End Of The Street"-James Carr
"Steal Away"-(? forgot)
"Me And Mrs. Jones"-Billy Paul
"Love Buddies"-Billy Paul
"Wildflower"-New Birth or The O'Jays

Hi S.S.

I think that the ultimate of all time is "Don't Get Hooked On Me" by Mac Davis. Ol' Mac was quite the rolling stone. With lines like "I'll only use you & then set you free", Mac sure let the ladies know that they shouldn't expect to receive any Christmas presents, you know. I mean, the man had no shame. I wonder how many ladies fell for that devotional hymn?

Hey S.S.

Talk about a drive by shooting. Mac let them know that he was hit & run all the way! I mean, this guy gave his own warning sticker, his own disclaimer. You didn't have to check the fine print either. He told them straight off the bat. I wonder how many women tried to renovate him? Some women like to tame the savage beast that can be MAN :-)

Me and Mrs. Jones

....and all them songs involving 3 or more participants...and not in a healthy menage-a-trois way...but in that "left handed", on the down low way.

How about the classic "I Wish That You Were Mine" by The Manhattans? Cheating never sounded so sweet! I always want to put it on my slow mix CDs. However, the lyrics just don't seem to fit the mood. Most ladies don't like to hear songs about cheating with them or on them. It's one hell of a song though.

My next choice would be the sublime "I Love You Secretly" by The Miracles from their "Renaissance" LP. Mr. Billy Griffin & The Miracles make longing for a forbidden love sound so damn tempting. This folks is simply one beautiful song & should have been released as a single & been a major hit. This song is great!!!

Then there's "Friends By Day" (Lovers By Night) by The Whatnauts. Another sweet Soul ballad with serious implications. Another great song!!!
