Hello All: Once again we are having our monthly SD45CC record shindig at the Woodward Ave Brewery 22646 Woodward Ave, Ferndale. 1-248-546-3696. (9 Mile & Woodward Ave 1 block South on the East side of Woodward) on Friday June 18th at 7:00 PM. You do not have to have 45's to come and have a good time. So SD45CC members Joe Moorehouse, Brian T, Sideburn Slim, Gary, Soulaholic and soon to be new members Goat & Morgan (leeway), and of course the traditional phone call from brother Ralph on the left coast will be hopefully in attendance. The call is to all other Detroit members of the SD site. Why aren't you coming to join in the fun??? Too good for us? (I hope not!) Don't truly love the music? (Can't believe that one)Only show up when the artist types are there?? oooh! lol. (That really can't be the truth) Can't find the time??? (well with how much some of the local members post on the site I am sure you can find 3 hours out of the 720 hours available in the month of June, to spend a little time with us. (guilt, guilt, shame, shame) lol. Hey it�s a really great time, we talk music, we listen to music, we look at music and we eat and drink and sometimes-even cd's get passed around. Still owe you sideburn and Brian T one each. So there IS NO EXCUSE for the LOCAL SD population to not be in the house!!!!! We got guest coming from ENGLAND (ADY & COMPANY) so we should show them what real US of A from MOTOWN hospitality is all about. This month those who are bringing the disc's to fill everyone�s "VINYL LUST" ADDICTION lets focus on the local grooves!!!!!!!!!! You know the ones with the zip codes that begin with 48???. Well, I am not a local Detroiter.  If you have time, stop over at Bart's Club, corner of 9mile & Woodward. (SE corner.) They have some great live soul music on Fridays. | ||

Hey Medusa: We all understand the working thing and have no disrespect to any one who has a late night schedule. Brian T works the "late shift". So we are ones that want to be accommodating to every one, so we have changed times and days a couple of times. Let us know what time and day is good and we will have an upcomming date & time that work for those who have the grave yard shift. A nice afternoon on the weekend woulf be quite fine. My point is really related to those who just don't even bother and dismiss the whole thing with out even coming once. It is not a loud music blaring type of thing. Conversation and enjoyment of what we have in common (MUSIC) is what these get togethers are all about. Really hope to see you in the future. And to you Sis D, if your brother is laying down some sounds next door (literally) then we will have to come over and pay some respect. | ||

Hi Brian! I know it will be a blast but we've got a family thing going that night so I'm sorry to report I won't be there. But I would like to encourage any SD'ers in metro Detroit--with or without old 45s--to show up. The company's great, the music is the best ever, and the beer ain't half bad either. There are a million ways to kill a Friday evening in Southeast Michigan, but not many of them are better than this. See you in July. | ||

Hey Joe: Appreciate the prop's. lol It was hard to have it next weekend knowing you where away, but we do have some Brits coming in and you and I can get together any old time to buy and sell and listen. Why don't you post a few of those gems you showed me. Not the ones I want!!!! and see if Ady & crew might have an interest??? We could hook up before and figure it out. Just a suggestion. Enjoy the Family get together!!! |
