OK ALL...HERE IT IS, AND I HOPE YOUR NOT AT ALL DISSAPOINTED, THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP AND ENCOURAGEMENT. ABOUT THE PICS... FIRST OF ALL; I BELIEVE THIS TO BE ONE OF...IF NOT THE EARLIEST MOTOWN PUBLICITY PHOTOS OF THE TEMPTS. IF AN EARLIER ONE EXISTS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I AQUIRED IT IN ABOUT 64 OR 65, BUT THE AUTOGRAPHS WERE OBTAINED I THINK I REMEMBER AT THE ROOSTERTAIL GIG IN ABOUT 65. DOES ANYONE NOTICE THE IRONY OF THE AUTOGRAPHS...ONE DOES EXIST, AND LETS ALL TRY TO FIGURE IT OUT FOR A MOMENT. MORE LATER.

ABOUT THE BEATLES PIC. I PERSONALLY TOOK THIS PHOTO AT THE BEATLES OLYMPIA STADIUM CONCERT DURING THEIR FIRST U.S. TOUR ON SEPT 6, 1964. SOME OF YOU MAY RECALL THAT A PROTEST GROUP OUT OF DETROIT CALLED "STAMP OUT THE BEATLES SOCIETY" PICKETED THE CONCERT...I WAS AT THE 2:00 P.M. MATINEE. WHEN TOLD ABOUT THE PROTEST GROUP UPON THEIR ARRIVAL AT JFK AIRPORT...RINGO RESPONDED..."WE'RE GOING TO STAMP OUT DETROIT", FUELING THE FUROR. GREAT CONCERT. OK; CAN ANYONE TELL US WHAT SOUL SINGER (ONE GIANT BIG HIT WONDER), AND WHAT SEMI-SOUL VOCAL GROUP SHARED THE STAGE WITH THE FAB FOUR DURING THAT TOUR? IF NO-ONE KNOWS, I'LL POST THE ANSWERS LATER. AGAIN THANKS TO DAVID, RITCHIE, AND ALL... STU

The big red barn as it was known was situated on Grand River at McGraw.

It was at no.5920. Thelma Records was nearby at no.6519.

Approx 2 shows that day brought in 30,000 fans.

The hotel they were staying in later sold their bedsheets, cut into tiny pieces, for $1 each.

CL who's not been on here for a while, was at the same show.

Aaahhhh, Stu, tooooo cool. I can make out the signatures of Paul in the left top corner; Eddie in the bottom left corner; Melvin in the right top corner; and David upside down taking up all the room in the middle. So where is Otis??

I was at the '64 show at Olympia Stadium -- went on a hunger strike and my parents finally let me go with a girlfriend and her mom.

I also went in '66, which I remember much better. There was a bit less screaming too. Bobby Hebb ("Sunny") and the Ronettes opened that one and Scott Regen emceed.

For '64 I was so excited myself I dropped my Brownie camera and just screamed, but I believe it was The Exciters ("Tell Him") and I think Jackie DeShannon, although to tell you the truth, I'm only sure of the Exciters.

I still have my ticket stubs for both shows. I'm pretty sure I was at the matinee in '64, my parents wouldn't have stood for anything else, but I'd have to look at the ticket.

SUE & ALL; OOPS... I WAS ALSO AT THE 66, AND THIS PIC MAY WELL BE THE 66 SHOW...BECAUSE YOU ARE RIGHT...BOBBY HEBB AND THE RONETTES WERE THE GROUPS THAT I WAS SPEAKING OF... TIME FLY'S. KAS; GOOD TO HEAR FROM YOU. YOUR OBSERVATION IS VERY ACCURATE. ALSO, IF DAVID HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHRINK IT TO IT'S ENTIRETY, MELVINS SIGANTURE IS INTERESTING FROM A GRAMMATICAL POINT OF VIEW. ALSO, IF YOU NOTICED PAUL'S SIGNATURE...THERE IS A FUNNY STORY TO IT, ALONG WITH I BELIEVE THAT WAS HIS HOME PHONE NUMBER ALONG SIDE. MORE LATER.

DAVID; NEVER MIND THE SHRINKING. MY SCREEN WAS JUST OFF CENTER. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE POSTING...STU

Stubass --
I cannot tell a lie -- as of two days ago I only remembered Bobby Hebb of the '66 opening acts, but my memory was refreshed recently when I got to speak to my favorite Keener jock, Scott Regen. He reminded me that the Ronettes were also on the bill.
