David,I Am wondering if it would be alright to do a piece on Bob and Earl which was researched by my late mate,Peter Lawson.It is the last piece he did before his disgraceful murder.I have had it now for quite a while and am sure he would of loved it to go onto a site such as this,I Know its not Detroit but,hey what a combination the two were.If you allow this David it would be appreciated.But if so,can somebody let me know if there is a current Bob and Earl web-site around,if so then it would be pointless typing out the relevent piece.Yours,as always in thanks.MEL.

Well, Mel, I think that's a wonderful idea. Bob & Earl, both individually and collectively contributed so much to the music - Bob Relf, Earl Nelson, Jackie Lee, Jay Dee - so many aliases! A quick search didn't reveal a Bob & Earl website - apart from the odd page here and there, so an illustrated webisode would make a wonderful tribute to the well-loved duo.

Not wanting to muscle in, but if David doesn't think it's strictly SD territory, I'd be happy to collaborate with you to put it online, obviously with full credit given to its source.

I wish I could, but i'm committed to this being a Detroit site on the basis of that being the carrot I dangled in front of Lowell.

I would love to see this on the web as it would also be a tribute to Pete Lawson.

Mel - if it's typed, rather than handwritten, that's not a problem. (I could OCR the text - scan it into the PC, rather than it having to be typed out again.) Label scans would have to be scanned - but, "we have the technology" - as they used to say about Steve Austin ;o)
