I was going through Stevie's Anthology LP and came across this cracker (I do like that word) of an instrumental. I'd never heard this song before. What a fun little surprise.

Tell me, doesn't this song have a UK vibe all over it? Clean, cut, swingin' w/martini's-n-beautiful people?

If anyone wants an MP3 email me privately.

Hi Larry

"More Than A Dream" appeared on Stevie's all-instrumental album named "Alfie" on Gordy GS932 released November 1968 - credited to Eivets Rednow (as if that fooled anyone!) I do agree, it's a great track.

Eivets Rednow?? Lol.

Yes, Richie, I've heard Stevie's Alfie. So there you go with the UK connection.

Another thing:
The opening melody on More Than A Dream is identical to the opening melody of Gerry and The Pacemakers' "Ferry Cross the Mersey".
