Ralph, the Tigers named Alan Trammell their new manager today.I know your probably saying "with 106 losses they'll need something new".Let me add that their triple aaa team(the toledo mudhens)won the championship in their class. They have quite a few promising young guns there. It's time to bring them up to the big leagues.Hopefully Trammell can bring them back to where they need to be.

Friday,
I just caught the Trammell deal on the news tonight. All I can say is I'm rooting for him. He's a good man. Maybe he can turn things around.

TRAMMEL'S THE MAN. MAYBE HE CAN HIRE "SWEET" LOU WHITTAKER AS HIS THIRD BASE COACH.

Hey, I'm betting Kirk Gibson will come back in some capacity as well!

I nominate Kirk Gibson for DH.

Gibson's the color commentator for all of the Tiger broadcasts on Fox Sports Net and an afternoon radio show host. Either one of those offers a lot more job security these days than being a Tiger coach or manager (or DH). :)

Although if Gibson were the first base coach, I bet any crazed White Sox fans would think twice before they rushed the field to attack him. ;)

Regards,
Ken

LOL Ken, that gave me the biggest laugh of the afternoon ...imagining the pummeling Gibby would have given that tattooed father & son team ...

For our Brit friends who maybe don't follow American baseball -- a couple of miscreants, a father and son, attacked a first base coach in Chicago -- where else? That town is way more dangerous than ours.

Oh and the whole thing was caught on TV of course, this long-haired duo jumping this poor innocent first page coach. Who knows why? The dad just wanted to be on TV apparently.
