Just picked up a record on LBJ (What Now) that I've never seen before, and am curious to know if anyone can provide additional information about it. The group is Us Everyday People. Songs are Without Your Sweet Lovin' b/w You're the One for Me. The A-side was recorded by Marvin Gaye in '66 but not released until '95. The B-side was also recorded by Marvin, and is on one of his '60s LPs (Moods of, I think). The '95 issue of Without Your Sweet Lovin' lists Stevie Wonder as a co-writer (with Morris Broadnax and Clarence Paul), but this 45 doesn't. All three are shown as writers on the B-side, however. Broadnax and Cincy produced (Graham, do I remember right that Cincy owned LBJ?).

Anyway it's a great record, almost certainly from the late '60s. It has full production--horns, excellent male backing vocals, smooth-voiced lead singer. A-side is very Northern in style, B-side moderate mid-tempo, but fine.

So does anybody know who is performing on this record? The singers and players are uniformly terrific. I don't know if I love this one quite as much as the Tony Birchett 45 on this label, but it's still awfully impressive to my ears.

Joe,

Don't know a thing about that record - I'd like
to hear it though as Marvin's version of "You're
The One For Me" is a little-known treasure.

You're right - it's from the "Moods of .." LP

Graham's setting up new home, hence absence.

Hope he'll be back soon.
