Who is Teddy Greene?

Discuss Detroit: SoulfulDetroit Temporary: Who is Teddy Greene?

On the intro to his (only) Capitol 45, "Gotta love you more", there's an MC introducing Teddy as if in a night club (though probably not!) saying, "Introducing, ladies and gentlemen, all the way from the Motor City, non other than Mr.Soul himself, Teddy Greene...burn baby, burn..."
So, was Teddy a regular turn in Detroit, who is the MC, and who is Teddy Greene?

Both sides have picked up plays on the NS scene since the mid 80's.
GLYM was written by Jones/Bateman/Hall, produced by Robert Bateman, arranged by Albert Dailey and is Brianbert Pub.Co. Terrific uptempo grinding dancer with a guitar (if only it was a sax!) break and fem chorus.
The flipside is called simply, "Cry" and is in more of a big NYC midtempo vein...written by Green/Hall/Bateman with the same producer and arranger as before, and Painted Desert Pub.Co.
Never seen a promo and well worthy of reactivation budding NS DJs take note! ;-)

Never heard of Teddy Greene, but Brianbert was Brian Holland and Robert Bateman's production company.

Flynny,

haven't been able to find out anything about
Mr. Greene other than that his BMI account (two
songs) is in the name Teddy Cy Greene.

Wish we we could get Bob Bateman on this forum !

Albert Dailey is probably the same as Al Dailey
a New York based pianist who seems to have worked
with jazz artists.
