On the Jackson Five Album, "Maybe Tomorrow", there is a song called "Honeychile", could someone please tell me who played the bass? It sounds like Jamerson but I"m not sure. Also is that Pistol Allen on the drums? whoever these guys were they really threw down.

The song titled "Honey Chile" was originally a Martha And The Vandellas recording which definately had Jamerson and the Funk Brothers on that session. I can not be sure if they used the same track or recorded the J5 track again using the same musiciasn or another group without hearing it.

Chill-Will:
The Jackson 5 version of "Honey Chile" may have either used the (remaining members of the) Funk Brothers or the Los Angeles team the production team known as "The Corporation" would employ (which consisted of keyboardist/writer Freddie Perren, Joe Sample & Wilton Felder of the Jazz Crusaders, percussionist Bobbye Hall, guitarist Tommy Tedesco to name a few). You may want to double-check your "Maybe Tomorrow" LP for arranger/producer credit. If "The Corporation" or Hal Davis produced the track, more than likely they used the LA musicians.
