I wanted to let everyone at the Forum know Joe Weaver & my band, the Rhythm Rockers, will be at Garfields on Moravian (formerly called Mega Blues) this Saturday, Aug 31. Garfields is located on Garfield and Moravian, in Clinton Township. Come out and see Joe, a very nice man and a hellava R&B singer.

Joe's next live date is Sept 24 at the Motor City Casino. He is on a bill called "Detroit Blues Legends." It also features his old pal from the Bluenotes, Johnnie Bassett, along with Alberta Adams & Thornetta Davis. The show starts at 8:30pm and they will be backed by my group, the Rhythm Rockers. Hope to see ya! -RJ

Just got back from the show. I had a great time. Blues legends. All of them were great. And RJ, that guitar man, and the sax man tore the house down. One of the patrons said the guitarist must have been born with the guitar in his hands. He had that guitar smoking. And the sax, (I'm not good with names), I'll tell you, you guys really worked him and he really worked that sax. I loved every moment of it. Thanks for inviting us.
Let us know when you are gonna be back. All singers were great, that Thornetta and Bassett know that made me wanna scream. (LOL) In the early days, I would have gotten up and cut a step. But I figured I might miss something.
Great Job RJ. I have had an absolutely perfect day.
Sis

Great to see you Sis! My guitar player's name is Paul Carey -- we go back 35 years! Guess we're getting old! Paul is also Sir Mack's band leader.
The sax player is Keith Kaminski -- he played on the Motor City R&B Pioneers CD and is one of my main guys. He and I have worked on over a dozen CDs in the last decade. He learned all the Red Prysock licks! Thanks, RJ

It was great seeing Joe Weaver play the keyboards. He was in his world. I was told that your keyboard player, I believe Steve, played behind David Ruffin. Can you elaborate on that?

My keyboard player, Shawn McDonald has not played with David Ruffin for sure. The sax player, Keith, does work sometimes with the current Temptation's. -RJ
