Vonnie and I had the pleasure of seeing a decent show this past Saturday night at the Prospect Park Bandshell in Brooklyn.
On the show were Jody Watley and newcomer, Donnie.
Jody looked great with her long, thin blond braids and wore camoflage pants, a black halter top and a white and black baseball type cap.

She sang all of her hits including the ones that she sang with shalamar, as well as selections from her new cd.

Her dancing was great as ever and her banter with the audience was excellent as well.
She even did some "vogue type" poses inviting everyone to"click click" and take some photos.

Her band was superb as well.

Next on the bill was Donnie who sang selections from his cd The Colored Section.

His music had strong elements of the Pentacostal church.
His band and three male backing vocalists were fiery.

My particular fave was the title song.

All in all it was an enjoyable evening under the stars.

Thank You Bobby :)
Jody is one of my all time favorites....

Bobby:
Donnie's album was released on the Giant Step label and picked up by Motown. It's a great CD and I highly recommend it.

The single "Do You Know" reminds me of Stevie Wonder's tunes from Fullfillingness' First Finale.
