Has anyone heard the new Siedah Garrett CD? It was just issued on Higher Octave Music and it's her first solo recording in a very long time. The music is a bit more rock & roll than soul but really good all the same. The CD was produced by John Wooler and co-produced by Siedah. She co-wrote eleven of the twelve tracks and recorded her very own version of the song she originally co-wrote for Michael Jackson, Man In The Mirror. If you like great music than this one is for you.

I didn't care for this release. After the "Kiss Of Life" CD which was produced by Rod Temperton and the work Ms. Garrett has done with Quincy Jones, The Brand New Heavies, Richard Elliot and a cast of music heavyweights I was long anticipating this CD after hearing about her signing to Higher Octave/OmTown was announced last year.

What we have here is are a confusing assembly of rock songs that do not fit this artist at all. I have given this CD several listens and even after a couple of beers it STILL didn't sound good! This release has "Flop" written all over it and is doomed for the cut-out rack.

Try it again, Siedah.

Why does she want to do rock, I wonder??
