I've been meaning to ask this for a long time. I have a tape called Shindig Presents sounds of the Motorcity. It includes the Temptations, The Supremes and more. I noticed that on the Vandellas performance of "No where to run" there is a different lady there with Rosalind and Martha that is NOT Betty Kelly (or Annette Beard). It's strange because you can tell that the camera person was intructed not to focuse the camera on her and also Ros usually was on the end and in this performance she was in the middle. Does anyone here know who the third lady was? Btw she was not one of the Blossoms. To my knowledge this has never been mentioned anywhere.

Could have been Sandra Tilley. I am saying this having not yet looked at the video.

No it wasn't Sandra Tilley or even Lois Reeves as they came on much later. This clip was from around 1965.

Hey I've always noticed that too about that performance on Shindig. I never knew who that woman was nor was it ever explained to my knowledge. I sure would like to know. Maybe Rosalind Ashford Holmes would remember. She has posted on this site before.

This thread made me go home and view my videotape as well. To be honest, I can't really tell whether or not it is Betty. Its not the best print, and the only closeups are given to Martha.

But I believe it is Betty, and only for one reason. I also have a tape of Martha, Rosalind, and Betty performing DANCING IN THE STREET on Shindig! They are wearing the same wigs that they wore when they sang NOWHERE TO RUN, leading me to believe that these two performances are from the same episode.

I always thought it was Betty also. Those shows usually only had one or two cameras and ofcourse the camera people usually did not know anything about the artists or music. It would be especially irritating when an artist would start to really get down and the camera would switch to one of the shows dancers or the audience.

And so does Rosalind. Received an email from her today and she remembers that it was Betty. To be sure she's going to look at her videotape of the show and let us know if it's a different girl.

ops sorry I can't find my shindig tape that is if I ever had a copy, but that has to be Betty when
we did that show she was with us. Never preformed any other tv show without Betty in those days. So it has to be Betty. I will try and check it out now you have me curious, but I do not recall
